October 2020: Activities In Lieu of Fall Festival
The Friends of Phillips Farm cancelled their annual Fall Festival this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In its place, we offered weekly events to do own your own or with your family at Phillips Farm County Park, posting a new event each Wednesday, from September 30 through October, here and on Facebook.
Fall Events Week 5: Geocaching and Treasure Hunting!
For our last October adventure, it’s time to go geocaching! Print the map and descriptions then use your orienteering skills to find the 7 geocaches hidden throughout Phillips Farm County Park. (The map and descriptions can also be found at geocaching.com or on its app, but data connection at the park is spotty to non-existent.) We’ve also set up a Treasure Hunt for younger kids. Start at the upper gazebo, and follow the clues to find the treasure! Happy hunting!

Bring your favorite arts and crafts supplies and draw pictures of the park in its fall colors, make nature collages from items you find on the ground, or write poems or stories about your day in the park. Don’t feel like drawing? Print out some of these pictures to color while you’re there! More pictures available here.
